18th Century Manor and Park with period costume
My client wished to have his home illustrated
My client wished to have his home illustrated within the period it was built the 18th Century Circa 1730.
He requested that I also include guests and workmen in period costume.
The property is portrayed as it is presently having been updated.
Also, depicting the remains of the incorporated 12th Century Cistercian Abbey.
There is a tree missing above the roofline, he asked me to add the tree that was missing.
The original Pen & Ink illustration took me a month to hand draw the 35" x 25" piece of artwork.
The client was exceptionally happy with his illustration.

Period house and grounds
These clients commissioned me to illustrate both front and rear aspects of their home.
This is the rear view capturing all the detailed landscaping, ornaments and carefully chosen trees and shrubs.
I had taken many close up photographs of the Orangery style seating area of their kitchen so that I could depict details within.
Also the steps and seating mid left of the illustration. Most of this aspect cannot be seen from this position in reality.
I have dropped the foreground to enable me to draw all the detail that would otherwise be hidden by the shrubs and trees.

Depicting it all as it would in a perfect world.
I enjoy including birds and wildlife when I can to bring the picture to life.
The original illustration is 35" x 25" artwork.

Cheshire Hall Circa 1740
My client wished for their dogs, geese and ducks to be included.
Also, to draw in the parts of the property that are not visible in reality because of trees and shrubbery.
Original size of the illustration is 39" x 25".
I managed to illustrate the correct bricks with the date and initials of the original builders.
One brick has " T D 1741" scored into it and the other brick is scored with an "X " presumably because he was illiterate which was common for those times.
Enjoyable commission to draw.

Dog Pen & Ink portrait 8" x 10".
Such an elegant looking and pretty dog to photograph and draw, innocent eyes.

Beagles
These Beagles were drawn from the clients photographs of their two much loved and sadly departed pets.

Church and Manor
This Church and manor were commissioned as a gift for the happy couple that married in this Church and had held their reception in the Manor next to it.
I used artistic license to depict the two buildings at less of an acute angle.
and lowered the churchyard wall to reveal more of the Church.

The Old Dairy.
This is a 24" x 16" commission of a former Dairy farm.
Personalised their home by including all the pet hens and pair of Mallard ducks.
Details of the old plough and bird feeder with a Green Woodpecker eating from it. Squirrel sat on top of the stone mushrooms
Details of the clock, mailbox, cast iron lamps and trailing wisteria and climbing roses all make it a home as opposed to a building.

Extended period property
Such an interesting roofline and building after being extended over the decades.
The original size is 24" x 16"

Cheshire timbered home
24" x 16" original size illustration.
This was a newly built house designed to match the original coach house at the rear.
The window details through the glass and detailing of the trees and gardens make it look more established.
This was the second home that the client had commissioned me to illustrate.

Marmalade tabby cat Portrait
Marmalade tabby cat Portrait.
I had been exhibiting and selling my artwork through a gallery in Llandudno.
Someone admired my work and had asked the Gallery to contact me to commission a 16" x 12" painting of a ginger tabby cat.
The reason being that he missed a ginger tabby that had sadly passed away.
He didn't give any description or any photographs.
Consequently, I wasn't that confident that I would achieve a likeness at all.
Having not even met the client I was delighted to hear back from the Gallery that he was so very emotional when he saw the painting as he told them it was exactly the same as his pet cat.
I was very surprised and happy that he bought it.

Speed boat
Speed boat
I was commissioned to draw this speedboat from one photograph of the boat with three people in it which hid most of the interior detail.
The other photograph was of the owner drinking a glass of wine.
The client wanted the speedboat illustrating with just the owner on his own drinking in the boat with a bottle of beer. bottle of beer.
I had to research the manufacturers web site to be able to draw the interior and boat design accurately.
It was commissioned as a surprise present for him from a friend.
The original is 13" x 9"

Dog portrait
These clients commissioned me to illustrate 4 of their pets three dogs, two of which were deceased and a deceased cat.
I shot photographs of this one and it was a nice touch that the owner was a carpenter and he had made the gate. His workshop is in the background.
We spent some time choosing which photos to illustrate the other three from.
The resulting group of four illustrations looked great together and they were very happy with them.
Each illustration was 8" x 10"

They look quite strikng.

Spaniel watercolour painting
I happily shot the photos to paint this 12" x 16" watercolour painting.
We chose this shot of her as the sunlight was streaming through her auburn coat, such a pretty Spaniel.

St Gyles Jewellers

An iconic building in Northampton.
Such an unusual, shaped building.
Drew the detail of all the Men's fashion displayed in their windows.
The client was very happy with the illustration an then commissioned me to draw a further commission for him.

A Striking building that has been renovated into offices.
Very tastefully designed.
This original is 28" x 21"
this family commissioned me to illustrate a further two properties.

A quintessential English cottage and garden, beautiful.
Included within this illustration is a stone dovecote.
